This year’s cherry blossom was the most Spectacular EVER! I have lived in Japan for more than 10 years but I’ve never gotten tired of this beautiful season (how one can be?) I just find it more beautiful every year, and this year we were lucky to enjoy this beautiful scenery longer than usual. here my beautiful client enjoying their baby under cherry blossoms.

We all know late March and early April around Tokyo is all covered with cherry blossoms, but I assure you it’s not the only season that the city is covered with flowers. I will share some of my favorite season and location to have a photo shoot under the beautiful scenery during Spring time.
Mid February ~ Mid March
Plum blossoms, they are one of the very first flowers which start to bloom before Spring. If you see these flowers in bloom, it means the spring is just around the corner!
late March ~ early April
Cherry trees start to bloom at late March around Tokyo but like any pretty flowers do, they start to fall after 1 short week. But it’s also the time you can witness amazingly beautiful sakura rain and all the beautiful petals on ground.
Early April ~ mid/late April
These are also one kind of cherry blossoms called Yaezakura but they start to bloom after the most famous ones start to fall. These flowers are very big and bright pink so they are photographed beautifully.
Late April ~ early May
Ahh Wisterias..so stunningly beautiful. It’s hard to find wisterias in Tokyo but with a short trip to Yokosuka which will take around 60~90 mins from central Tokyo, there is this beautiful wisterias garden. Many of my clients traveled to this location for this beautiful scenery.

Mid June ~ Mid July
While spring comes to the end and rainy season starts these amazingly beautiful and large hydrangeas start to cover all over the city. My most favorite places to shoot with these flowers are Yokosuka and Kamakura.

Still updating last year’s session :-) 2018 was definitely the busiest year, as a photographer I have learned and grown so much. It was also the first year that I started to submit my photographs to some of very prestige international competitions. And I am glad to say my images were recognized among the best photographers globally. Today I want to share one of my newborn sessions last year. As a mother of two, I know how newborn days can be crazy with lack of sleeping. I also know while you’re feeding your baby and changing him, the newborn days are just fleeing before you realize it. I wanted to capture the beauty of this brand new baby and also the love surrounding him during this precious time.

Shichigosan at Hokokuji Temple
I absolutely love this beautiful tradition called Shichigosan where family celebrates when their kids reach 3,5 and 7 years old by dressing them up in this beautiful kimono. Every time when I go out to photograph Shichigosan, I see peoples face just light up just like they see ancient prince or princess. And visiting this temple, where it’s famous for its bamboo forest but still a secluded place away from main tourist area of Kamakura, it was just an added bonus :-)
Tokyo Family / Engagement / Couple Photographer | Yoyogi Park
My favorite place in central Tokyo to experience autumn foliage would be Yoyogi Park. This is also one of rare places that you can experience both yellow ginkgo leaves and red Japanese maple leaves at same time. While most of ginkgo leaves turn yellow in mid November, the Ginkgo trees in Yoyogi Park are huge, they tend to turn yellow at late November which is also same time that you can experience red maple leaves.
